Macedonian opposition SDSM says Christian Micic pushes diaspora mail‑in vote to enable election fraud

SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzetska warned that Christian Micic and the VMRO‑DPM party intend to continue manipulating the election by targeting more than 200,000 diaspora voters. After abandoning an electronic voting proposal that lacked oversight, Micic is now advocating a mail‑in voting system that would operate without the State Election Commission’s consensus on rules or control mechanisms. Kuzetska said the proposal “provides no control or guarantee for respecting the free will of citizens – a new model and opportunity for electoral manipulation and irregularities.”

SDSM stressed it is not opposed to diaspora voting per se, but objects to any method that cannot ensure security, transparency and protection of the vote. The party called for the Commission to withdraw the proposal and adopt a regulated framework with institutional verification to prevent what it described as an “election robbery.”
