Macedonian PM Christian Mitzkowski announces 1,200 infrastructure projects and new farmer subsidies
Prime Minister Christian Mitzkowski said that more than 1,200 infrastructure projects are under construction across North Macedonia, citing visits to Ilinden and Delchevo municipalities. He praised local mayors for their work and highlighted that the projects aim to improve citizens' quality of life.
The government has rebalanced the state budget to finance direct payments to farmers for 2025, completing the settlement of unpaid subsidies from 2021‑2024 and opening applications for the 2026 cycle. Mitzkowski noted a recent cyber‑attack on the agency handling the payments but said the system would be fully operational shortly.
In Delchevo, 16 projects are currently being implemented, and the prime minister expects the municipality’s blocked account to be unlocked before the end of the current mandate. He also announced a tender for the Kocani‑Vinica‑Delchevo express road, including a feasibility study.
