Macedonian Post faces blockade on shipments to the United States

The political party Levica has raised alarms regarding the collapse of postal services within the Macedonian Post, stating that sending parcels and packages to the United States has become nearly impossible due to a blockade. This issue affects only letters, while all other types of shipments are currently blocked.

According to the party, this situation poses a direct threat to the livelihoods of thousands of citizens, including micro-internet traders and artisans who rely on international retail markets. Levica criticized the government's inability to resolve the administrative issue, noting that while diplomatic relations with the U.S. are maintained, basic postal traffic remains non-functional.

The party dismissed explanations from postal directors regarding American tariffs, pointing out that neighboring Serbia maintains normal postal traffic with the U.S. despite similar tariff structures. Levica is calling for urgent intervention from the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to resolve the crisis and hold the leadership of the Macedonian Post accountable.
