Macedonian Prime Minister Christian Miccoski urged to apologize for insulting citizens

Prime Minister Christian Miccoski faced widespread criticism after a parliamentary speech in which he directed personal attacks at Levica deputy Amar Mecerović and disparaged ordinary citizens. In the address he labeled Macedonians as “tаlog na opštestvoto”, “glodari”, “mediokriti” and “mekoteli”. The remarks prompted calls from opposition parties and civil society for Miccoski to issue a public apology to the people of North Macedonia.

The controversy deepened when Miccoski’s close associate Ivan Stoilkovic intervened in a physical altercation with MP Mitko Trajčuleski inside the Assembly. Observers described the episode as a breach of parliamentary decorum and an example of growing political incivility. The demand for a sincere apology highlights concerns over the tone of political discourse and the Prime Minister’s accountability to citizens.
