Macedonian Prime Minister Christian Mitzkowski Announces Major Health‑Sector Investments

Prime Minister Christian Mitzkowski said the government will keep investing in North Macedonia’s health system, focusing on modern medical equipment, new technologies, staff training and the development of transplant medicine and organ donation. He praised donors, medical staff and families of organ donors, calling organ donation a “high‑humanity” activity.

During a visit to the newly rebuilt General Hospital in Strumica, Mitzkowski announced that the long‑awaited project will be fully operational at the start of September after final works are completed by the end of August. He listed other health‑sector projects under way or planned, including the Clinical Hospital in Štip, a new building for the Medical Faculty, health facilities in Kičevo and Tetovo, a prospective clinical centre in Skopje, and additional infrastructure road studies linking Strumica with neighboring regions and Bulgaria.
