Macedonian Prime Minister Micic says Dimitar Dimovski will not become good‑governance secretary

Prime Minister Christian Micic told reporters that Dimitar Dimovski will not be appointed as the secretary for good governance in his cabinet. Micic said, “I never said who would manage the good‑governance sector… It will not be the same person,” and added that he had already expressed his view on Dimovski in the past and would not comment further.

Dimovski, currently serving as secretary for public policies, coordination and monitoring of the government programme, has been linked to past corruption cases. He was conditionally sentenced in the “Toplik” case involving the sale of state land for the Sončev Grad project in Sopishte and was acquitted of charges in the “Spanish Scales” case connected to the Skopje 2014 event. Critics note his longtime business partnership with Micic in the hydro‑power sector, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest in a role overseeing anti‑corruption and good‑governance measures.
