Professors Eva Gjorgjievska and Jovana Karanikic Josimovska have been awarded the prestigious Flianno International Award in the category of Italian Studies ‘Luca Atanasio’. Their winning work, titled ‘Italian Literature and Culture of the Baroque, Enlightenment and Neoclassicism’, was published by Ars Lamina.
The award ceremony took place on October 23 during the 53rd edition of the cultural event in Pescara, supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This marks the first time Macedonian authors have received this international recognition in competition.
Established in 1973 by Edoardo Tiboni in honor of writer Ennio Flianno, the Flianno Award recognizes excellence in theater, film, television, journalism, and literature. The specific Italian Studies category aims to promote the study and global dissemination of Italian language and culture.
