Macedonian Stock Exchange trading volume falls, Replek leads gains

July saw a sharp slowdown in activity on the Macedonian Stock Exchange, with total turnover dropping 75 % to 380.5 million denars (about €6.2 million) and market capitalisation slipping 1.19 % to 334.3 billion denars. The MB I10 index closed the month at 9,293.43 points, down 2.4 %. Five securities – Alkaloid, Commercial Bank Skopje, UNI Bank, Economic Bank Skopje and Makpetrol – accounted for almost 89 % of the month’s trading, with Alkaloid alone handling 37.78 % of volume (123.1 million denars).

On 7 August 2026 the exchange recorded a modest rebound, the MB I10 index edging up 0.08 % to 9,243.19 points and total turnover reaching 22.79 million denars. Replek Skopje posted the biggest gain (+0.66 %), followed by Granite Skopje (+0.39 %) and Commercial Bank Skopje (+0.18 %). The most traded shares were those of Commercial Bank, Granite and Alkaloid. In the bond market, public‑offer IUTe credit bonds recorded a turnover of 2.48 million denars.
