Macedonian Telecom secures record six Ookla Speedtest Awards

Macedonian Telecom has been awarded six Ookla® Speedtest Awards, confirming its position as the leading network operator in North Macedonia for the first half of 2026. The company received honors for best mobile network, fastest mobile network, best mobile gaming experience, best mobile video experience, as well as best and fastest fixed‑line networks.

The awards are based on millions of user‑initiated tests via the Speedtest® app, providing an independent assessment of network performance. Maya Miloslavska Naumovska, Chief Technical and IT Officer, said the achievements reflect continuous investment of €1.19 billion over 25 years, modernisation, and new technologies. Today, the operator’s 5G network covers 97.8 % of the population with gigabit speeds, and its optical fibre infrastructure reaches roughly twice as many households as competing operators.

These recognitions underscore Macedonian Telecom’s commitment to delivering high‑quality digital services for everyday communication, video streaming, online gaming and fast internet access.
