Macedonia's 'Health and Work' Initiative Calls for Science‑Based Decisions Over Public Pressure

The Macedonian civil society group “Health and Work” has condemned recent public attacks and attempts to discredit university professors, geologists, mining engineers and other experts who present scientific facts and modern technological solutions in the mining sector. The initiative says these organised efforts aim to undermine the credibility of professionals who have dedicated their careers to science, research, engineering and education.

It urges the government and relevant institutions to base policy decisions on solid knowledge, legal procedures and independent expert assessments rather than on political or activist pressure. The group stresses that strong, evidence‑based institutions are essential to protect the environment, public health and economic development, and calls for continued respect for scientific expertise in Macedonia.
