Macedonia's Justice Ministry urged to confirm Nikola Gruevski extradition status

The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has called on the Ministry of Justice and Prime Minister Dimitar Kovačevski's government to give a clear answer on whether the extradition documents for convicted criminal Nikola Gruevski have been sent. The party criticised the lack of a simple "yes" or "no" response and accused the government of protecting Gruevski and delaying the process.

SDSM noted that Hungary’s new prime minister Peter Magyar recently said Hungary would not serve as a safe haven for criminals, specifically mentioning Gruevski, while Poland completed and dispatched its extradition paperwork within a day. The Macedonian authorities, according to the opposition, have taken weeks to prepare the documents, allegedly buying time for Gruevski to evade justice.
