Macedonia's SDSM says 73% earn below‑average wages under Mickoski

Macedonian opposition party SDSM issued a statement alleging that more than 73% of the country’s citizens receive wages below the national average, based on data from the Public Revenue Office. The party says half of employees earn between 24,000 and 36,000 denars per month and that the minimum trade‑union basket has risen to roughly 70,000 denars, leaving many families without enough income for basic needs.

SDSM criticises the government of Prime Minister Zoran Mickoski and the VMRO‑DPMNE coalition for refusing to raise the statutory minimum wage to €600, claiming the administration benefits from “criminal tenders” while wages remain among the lowest in Europe and the cost of living continues to rise.
