Macedonia's VMRO-DPMNE Deputy Urges Opposition to Reach Electoral Law Deal
VMRO‑DPMNE deputy Bojan Stojanovski told Channel 5’s Vesti Plus that the government and ruling majority have a clear position on amendments to the electoral law, but that opposition parties must take political responsibility and reach a joint stance on open issues. He said the platform for the discussions was correct and that the government has acted responsibly by leaving it to the opposition to reconcile the various proposals aired publicly.
Stojanovski called on SDSM, DUI, Levica and the deputies of Arben Taravari and Ziadin Sela to sit together and agree on matters such as the diaspora voting model, financing percentages and related reforms, adding that the majority will accept whatever the opposition decides. He also highlighted the goal of strengthening the connection between Macedonian expatriates and the homeland.
