Macedonia's VMRO‑DPMNE restores foreign‑language textbooks and invests €70 million in education

VMRO‑DPMNE announced that education has returned to a priority under its government. After seven years without foreign‑language textbooks, more than one million copies in English, French, German and Italian were delivered to schools on the first day of the new term. The party said the purchase saved about 45 million denars over the past two years thanks to lower prices.

A signed agreement with the State Budget Fund guarantees teacher salary increases of 40‑60 % over the next four years, with the first two years seeing rises of over 20 %. New career tracks for mentors and advisors were introduced, and the number of educational assistants rose to 1,350 in primary schools and 150 in secondary schools. Over 160 schools received modern IT equipment, a digital diary and electronic certificates were implemented, and more than 1,000 teachers were trained on ethical AI use. In its first year, the government invested more than €70 million in new school buildings, sports halls, reconstruction and expansion of educational infrastructure.
