Maceió issues guidelines for street vending authorization

The Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security (Semsc) in Maceió has issued guidelines for individuals seeking authorization to engage in street vending within public areas. Applicants must adhere to specific municipal rules and criteria, as the opening of an administrative process does not guarantee approval.

All requests undergo technical analysis by the Fiscalização de Posturas. This evaluation considers the proposed location, public safety, pedestrian and vehicle circulation, public interest, current legislation, and any legal restrictions or judicial decisions. While applicants can suggest a preferred location, its viability is only confirmed following a technical inspection by the responsible team.

Semsc warns that operating without authorization or installing equipment before receiving official permission is prohibited and may lead to penalties, including notifications and the seizure of goods and equipment. Applicants can track their process status through the Unified Electronic Process System (SUPE) using their CPF, name, or process number.
