Maceió serial killer sentenced to 60 years for double murder
Albino Santos de Lima, known as the “Serial Killer of Maceió,” has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the murders of Débora Vitória Silva dos Santos, 21, and John Lenno Santos Ferreira, 20. The couple was shot and killed in the Vergel do Lago neighborhood in December 2023.
This marks Lima's tenth conviction since his arrest in 2024. With this latest sentence, his total accumulated prison time has reached 354 years, two months, and 13 days across multiple murder trials. This follows a recent 30-year sentence for the killing of Mikaele Leite da Silva.
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence from Lima's phone, including a list of potential targets featuring photos of sex workers. Prosecutor Antônio Vilas Boas stated that the defendant tracked victims via social media and engaged in predatory behavior. While the defense argued that Lima suffers from psychiatric issues, the prosecution maintained that medical reports contradict these claims and that the defendant understood his actions.
