Esmeraldas and Maceió report fatal and multi-injury accidents

In Esmeraldas, Minas Gerais, a collision involving two cars and a horse on the MG-432/MG-060 highway left three people injured. The accident occurred when a driver attempted to brake for a horse in the roadway, leading to a collision between a Hyundai HB20 and a Chevrolet Cobalt. One victim remains in serious condition, while the others sustained minor injuries. The incident also caused a small fire that was quickly controlled by firefighters.

In Maceió, Alagoas, a two-year-old boy named Marcos Antônio died after being struck by a speeding Ford Fiesta that drove onto a sidewalk in the Vergel do Lago neighborhood. The vehicle also struck the child's four-year-old sister, who was treated for minor injuries. Following the accident, local residents reportedly attacked and killed the 53-year-old driver. The Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (Bope) was deployed to manage the scene, and authorities are investigating both the fatal accident and the subsequent lynching.
