Macerata approves urban regeneration project for affordable housing
The Macerata municipal government has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with ERAP Marche to launch an urban regeneration project in the city's historic center. The initiative focuses on recovering a degraded building located between via Santa Maria della Porta and via Padre Matteo Ricci, which was recently acquired by the municipality.
Under the agreement, the municipality will transfer the upper floors and portions of the building on via Padre Matteo Ricci to ERAP. This collaboration aims to create five new public residential apartments with subsidized rents specifically intended for young couples looking to establish roots in the city center.
Vice Mayor and Social Policy Councilor Francesca D’Alessandro stated that the project seeks to support young families and revitalize the historic core by transforming abandoned properties into dynamic resources, thereby strengthening the community and restoring decorum to the area.
