Macerata Declares Municipal Mourning for Three Young Victims of Highway Crash
The city of Macerata announced a day of official mourning after three twenty‑year‑old men were killed in a highway collision on Sunday. A joint funeral will be held at the municipal stadium Helvia Recina – Pino Brizi at 18:00, and the mayor, Sandro Parcaroli, ordered flags to be lowered to half‑mast on all public buildings. All recreational events scheduled for the day have been suspended, and shop owners have been asked to observe a minute of silence during the ceremony. Approximately 5,000 residents participated in a candlelight procession earlier in the week, reflecting the community’s grief and solidarity with the families of the deceased.
