Italy hosts volunteer recognition events in Marche and Como

Various volunteer recognition events took place across Italy. In Macerata, approximately 1,000 volunteers representing 160 organizations gathered for the Marche Region Civil Protection Volunteer Day. The event included a religious ceremony, a parade through the historic center, and an institutional ceremony at the Sferisterio to honor those managing regional emergencies and prevention. This milestone comes ten years after the 2016 seismic events in the region.

In the Province of Como, a similar day of gratitude was held at Lariofiere in Erba to honor over 1,500 civil protection volunteers. Officials highlighted the network's role in various emergencies, including recent floods in Emilia-Romagna and local forest fires. The event also focused on specialized training for assisting people with disabilities during emergencies.

Additionally, a blood donation drive was organized in Cerveteri by the Italian Red Cross (Comitato Locale S. Severa / S. Marinella), seeing significant participation from local citizens at an mobile unit in Piazza Aldo Moro.
