Macerata Opera Festival posters vandalized in night attack

During the night between Friday and Saturday, promotional posters for the Macerata Opera Festival were defaced with pink flyers bearing the phrase “Hai visto che schifo le locandine dell’opera?”. The flyers criticized the festival’s use of AI‑generated images and singled out artistic director Marco Vinco and mayor Sandro Parcaroli. Cultural assessor Lorella Benedetti condemned the act as an incivile gesture that harms the city’s cultural image, tourism and the work of festival staff. Local authorities have been notified and are arranging the removal of the flyers and restoration of the damaged posters.
