Maceration to release fourth death metal album in November 2026

Danish death metal veterans Maceration have announced the release of their fourth full-length album, ‘Mercy To The Miserable’, scheduled for November 20, 2026, via Emanzipation Productions.

The album features eight new tracks that continue the band’s old-school death metal style, characterized by a blend of brutality, speed, melody, and the Swedish HM-2 guitar sound. For this release, the band has transitioned from their previous collaborator, Dan Swanö, to work with producer Lawrence Mackrory, known for his work with bands such as Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, and Meshuggah. Mackrory handled the mixing and mastering of the record.

Guitarist Jakob Schultz stated that the decision to work with Mackrory was driven by a desire to experiment with a new sound that they felt perfectly matched the band’s current direction. The album’s lyrical themes explore dark aspects of the human psyche, including death, grief, and self-perception, with some tracks drawing inspiration from horror cinema.
