Macfrut 2027 trade fair announces Chile as Guest Country of Honor

The 44th edition of Macfrut, an international trade fair for the fresh produce supply chain, has been announced for April 20–22, 2027, at the Rimini Expo Centre. Organized by Cesena Fiera, the event will feature Chile as the Guest Country of Honor.

Chile has been recognized for its significant role in global fruit production, particularly in cherries and dried fruits such as hazelnuts and walnuts. The country's cherry cultivation area grew from approximately 39,600 to nearly 77,800 hectares between 2020 and 2025, with total exports reaching US$8.5 billion in 2025. Chile is also a key consumer of agricultural technology, machinery, and irrigation systems.

The 2027 edition introduces a new multi-sector agribusiness platform by integrating Macfrut with Growtech Europe, which focuses on the pre-harvest sector, and Fieravicola, which focuses on the poultry supply chain. Additionally, a new preview day called ‘Macfrut N.E.X.T.’ will be held on April 19 for industry decision-makers. The event will also highlight kiwifruit as the ‘Fruit in Focus’ and feature Piedmont as a partner region.
