MacGregor to supply equipment for four research vessels
MacGregor has secured orders to provide advanced deck cranes, handling equipment, and deck machinery for four new oceanographic research vessels. The equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027 and are expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2029.
Two of the vessels are being built at GONDAN Shipbuilders in Spain for the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH). The other two vessels are being constructed at Titagarh Naval Systems Limited in India for the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
The scope of the supply includes various specialized maritime tools, such as CTD single line winches, oceanographic winches, survey boat davits, deck cranes, stern A-frames, and ROV telescope booms. These vessels are intended to support ocean studies, climate change tracking, and marine biodiversity monitoring.
