Machagai circuit returns to hosting regional motorsport championship

The Hilario García Tapia circuit in Machagai is set to host the fifth round of the 2026 Automovilismo Zonal Chaqueño Championship, known as the Gran Premio Don Antonio. This marks the return of racing to the venue after a three-year hiatus.

Mayor Juan Manuel García noted that the local government, in collaboration with the Autopeña Timoteo Garcés and private sector companies, undertook a recovery plan for the facility. The improvements included track repairs, new lighting, and general maintenance following damage caused by a tornado and instances of vandalism. The event will feature three official categories: Clase 1, Clase 2, and TC Chaqueño.
