Machakos County police investigate two separate drownings

Police are investigating multiple drowning incidents in Machakos County. In Nthangathini Village, 20-year-old Joshua Mutuku Muisuo drowned while swimming in a private dam. His body was retrieved by members of the public, and authorities noted no visible injuries on the deceased.

In a separate incident in Kathiani, 25-year-old Barnabas Lucky Baraza, a technician for Netwood Technologies, drowned in River Thwake. Baraza was traveling back to Nairobi after completing a Wi-Fi repair job in Masii. According to colleagues, Baraza exited a vehicle to relieve himself near the river; after he disappeared from view, colleagues observed him jump into the water. Divers later recovered his body, which was moved to the Kathiani Level Four Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
