Machico Gastronomic Week Opens with D'Repente and Os Quatro e Meia

The 39th edition of the Semana Gastronómica de Machico began Friday in Machico, Madeira, with an opening concert on the main stage of the Forum Machico. The local band D'Repente performed, celebrating its 10‑year anniversary and blending traditional Madeiran rhythms with contemporary sounds. The headline act for the night was the popular group Os Quatro e Meia, followed after midnight by DJ Amériko Nunez.

The multi‑day festival combines food stalls from numerous exhibitors with live music, aiming to draw thousands of visitors to the Forum. Organisers expect the event to boost tourism and showcase Madeira’s culinary and cultural heritage.
