Machico PSD calls for urgent mobility intervention

Social Democratic Party (PSD) councilors in Machico are calling for urgent intervention at the Desembarcadouro area to address increasing traffic and pedestrian circulation issues. The party proposed a comprehensive mobility study covering several streets, including Caminho da Quinta Palmeira and Rua do Desembarcadouro, to manage rising congestion caused by a growing local population.

Proposed solutions include implementing one-way streets, reorganizing parking, improving sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, and exploring alternative road routes to divert traffic. The PSD also requested a public hearing to involve residents and suggested that any infrastructure improvements be coordinated with sewage, drainage, and utility networks.
