Machine Identities Outnumber Humans, Raising Enterprise Identity Threats

A Palo Alto Networks study of 2,930 cybersecurity leaders found that in Asia‑Pacific enterprise networks machine identities now outnumber human users by a ratio of 111:1, driven by the rapid adoption of autonomous AI agents. The report notes that 100% of APAC organizations have deployed AI agents, nine‑in‑ten have suffered an identity‑related breach in the past year, and 97% anticipate significant financial loss if certificate renewal processes are not fully automated.

Meanwhile, IntegraTRACE, founded by software engineer Steve Emmanuel, is launching a SOC 2‑Type II‑compliant platform that consolidates human, non‑human and agentic identity data across cloud environments. The company, headquartered in the United States and expanding into Europe and Asia, aims to give organizations a single source of truth for access‑rights visibility, addressing the fragmentation that many firms cite as a major barrier to effective identity governance.

Both reports underscore the growing complexity of digital identity management and the heightened risk of credential‑based attacks, which now account for roughly one‑third of all intrusions.
