Machiques de Perijá to host Reencuentro Machiquense 2026

The Mayor of Machiques de Perijá, Marco Perrotta, and the board of the Ganaderos de Machiques (Gadema) have announced the ‘Reencuentro Machiquense 2026’. The festive and agroproductive event is scheduled to take place from November 13 to 18 at the ‘Víctor Hugo Romero’ Fairgrounds.

The celebration marks the 185th anniversary of the municipality's elevation to a civil parish. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the local Mayor's office, the Zulia State Government, the livestock guild, and private sector representatives, resuming the tradition after several years of inactivity.

The program begins on Friday, November 13, with an exhibition and tasting of traditional Perijá cheese, alongside a showcase for local entrepreneurs. On Saturday, November 14, there will be a collective tasting of ‘carne en vara’ provided by local cattle producers, followed by a musical performance featuring singer Emily Galaviz and local groups. The festivities will continue until Wednesday, November 18, which is the official anniversary of the municipality.
