Maciej Berek faces scrutiny over Constitutional Tribunal candidacy

The candidacy of Maciej Berek for a judgeship on the Constitutional Tribunal has drawn significant criticism from legal experts and political commentators in Poland. Constitutional law expert Professor Marek Chmaj has raised concerns regarding judicial independence, noting that Berek’s transition directly from a high-ranking government role to the Tribunal could conflict with the principle of impartiality.
