Maciej Orłoś to report hijacked X account to police

Polish journalist Maciej Orłoś is facing a prolonged struggle after his X (formerly Twitter) account, which has over 40,000 followers, was hijacked several months ago. The unauthorized user has been posting scandalous, vulgar, and discriminatory content, including racist and sexist remarks, which the journalist clarifies are not his.

Orłoś has attempted to resolve the issue through multiple channels, including contacting the X platform and CERT. However, he reported that his interactions with X resulted in standard responses generated by artificial intelligence, which claimed there were no grounds for account restoration. While CERT indicated they took action, the journalist noted that final decisions rest with the platform.

Due to the continued lack of resolution and the impact on his professional reputation, Orłoś has announced his intention to report the matter to the police. He has also appealed to social media users to report the compromised account to help mitigate the spread of the fraudulent content.
