Maciej Rybus set to rejoin Pelikan Łowicz on short‑term deal
Former Poland international defender Maciej Rybus is training with third‑division side Pelikan Łowicz and is expected to sign a five‑month contract lasting until December 2026. The move would mark his return to professional football in his hometown after a 14‑year absence from Polish leagues.
Rybus began his career at Pelikan, later playing for Legia Warsaw, Terek Grozny, Olympique Lyon, Lokomotiv Moscow, Spartak Moscow and Rubin Kazan. He remained in Russia during the 2022 invasion of Ukraine citing family reasons. After not playing professionally since 2024, his prospective short‑term deal is seen as a symbolic closure to his playing career.
