Maciej Siembieda novella ‘Gustaw’ to be published in installments

Gazeta Wyborcza is launching a special literary project featuring the novella ‘Gustaw’ by Maciej Siembieda. Starting August 22, the story will be published in seven installments every Saturday and Wednesday through September 12.

Set against the backdrop of World War II and the subsequent political transformations in Poland, the narrative begins in the Third Reich as the village of Weissdorf is submerged. The plot follows the shifts in power in the Opole region from Soviet to Polish administration and explores the mystery surrounding the fate of Gustaw Kremser. The novella is part of Siembieda’s upcoming book, ‘Gustaw i Gadająca żaba’, which is scheduled for release in e-book and audiobook formats on September 12, followed by a print edition on September 23.
