Macklemore announces Free Palestine tour following Ed Sheeran exit

American rapper Macklemore has announced a “Free Palestine Tour” following his removal from Ed Sheeran’s US tour dates. The controversy arose after Macklemore made pro-Palestinian statements and performed the song “Hind’s Hall” during performances in New Jersey. According to the Messina Touring Group, the decision to remove him was driven by venue objections to his political participation.

The new tour is scheduled to include shows in Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29, and London on October 30, with additional US dates and artists to be announced later. Macklemore stated that all ticket proceeds will be donated to humanitarian organizations supporting Palestinians, including UNRWA USA, Medical Aid for Palestinians, and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The situation has sparked broader debate regarding artist expression and corporate influence. Macklemore criticized the “billionaire class” for attempting to censor certain voices, while Ed Sheeran addressed the controversy, noting that tour promoters made the decision after venue objections. Meanwhile, pop singer Pink has faced criticism and a petition for her removal as a UNICEF ambassador after speaking out against the imagery used in Macklemore’s performances.
