Macomer and Cerignola host legalità festivals and barefoot march with students and locals

The 11th edition of the "Conta e cammina" legalità festival was held in Macomer, Sardinia, organized by the Centro servizi culturali. Hundreds of attendees, including about 200 middle‑school students from Macomer, Oristano and Cabras, participated in discussions on topics such as Giulio Regeni, the murdered magistrate Rosario Livatino, drug trafficking and future societal visions.

In Cerignola, Apulia, the municipal administration and a local ATI organized the "A piedi nudi per la legalità – 100 passi" march on 22 May 2026. The symbolic barefoot walk covered 1,117 metres, a figure representing the number of mafia victims, and involved school groups and citizens starting at the Church of Carmine.

Both events were part of Italy’s annual celebration of the Day of Legality, aimed at promoting anti‑mafia awareness and community engagement.
