Macon, Georgia authorities investigate death of 4-year-old girl

Authorities in Macon, Georgia, are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl, Jayde Wooten, who was found unresponsive in a large trash container filled with water and fish.

According to incident reports from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the child's father, Maleek Wooten, discovered her inside the container in the family's bathroom after noticing she was missing from her bedroom. The mother, Jordenn Jones-Wooten, had previously reported seeing the child eating in the kitchen before she fell asleep.

Neighbors attempted to perform CPR on the child before emergency responders arrived. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, Jayde was pronounced dead after being transported to a medical center. Investigators noted significant amounts of water on the bathroom floor and water trails leading from the bathroom to the entrance of the home.
