macOS 27 Golden Gate introduces manufacture date visibility and faces performance reports
macOS 27 Golden Gate introduces a new method for users to identify their Mac’s manufacture date directly through the operating system. By navigating to the Apple menu, selecting ‘About This Mac,’ and then ‘Regulatory Certification,’ users can view the date associated with their device’s logic board. This feature restores information that Apple had previously removed from device access in 2021.
However, some users have reported performance issues following the installation of macOS 27. These include lag, stuttering, and visual bugs within Mission Control, Stage Manager, and when swiping between spaces or full-screen applications. Reported symptoms include flickering thumbnails, black spaces during display switching, and animation delays. Potential workarounds to improve stability include disabling transparency in the Accessibility settings or turning off the auto-hide feature for the Dock.
