MacOS guide for locating local IP addresses

Users can find their local IP address on MacOS through two primary methods: the System Settings interface or the Terminal application.

To use the graphical interface, users should navigate to the Apple menu, select System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions), and go to the Network section. From there, selecting the active connection—such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet—and clicking on Details or Advanced will reveal the assigned IPv4 address.

For a command-line approach, the Terminal can be used. Users can input 'ipconfig getifaddr en0' for Wi-Fi connections or 'ipconfig getifaddr en1' for Ethernet connections to retrieve the address directly.
