MacPaw introduces Eney AI assistant for Apple devices
Software developer MacPaw has introduced Eney, a proactive AI assistant designed for macOS and iOS. Originally developed as an extension for CleanMyMac, the tool now operates as standalone software to support daily workflows within the system context of Apple devices.
Eney utilizes a specialized memory architecture called Mnemos, which employs a knowledge graph that runs locally on the device. To optimize performance on Apple Silicon, MacPaw collaborated with Liquid AI to develop Liquid Foundation Models. The system prioritizes privacy by performing most tasks locally; external cloud queries require explicit user consent, and sensitive information is automatically redacted before being sent to language models.
The assistant can analyze applications, files, and calendar entries to provide context-aware suggestions, such as summarizing content, translating text, or managing task lists, without requiring users to switch between windows. To ensure security, the software requests confirmation before performing actions like sending, changing, or moving elements. Users can also import existing archives from ChatGPT into the system.
