MACRO acquires ALLBLK streaming service from AMC Global Media
MACRO, the multi-platform entertainment company founded by Charles D. King, has acquired the streaming service ALLBLK from AMC Global Media. The deal marks MACRO’s first entry into the direct-to-consumer market, transitioning the company from a content producer that sells to third-party studios to a vertically integrated media entity that owns its own distribution platform.
King, leading the acquisition alongside Bobby Singh and Jaime Rigal, stated that the move is intended to strengthen the platform through increased resources, original programming, and creative partnerships. ALLBLK, which originally launched in 2014 as UMC under Robert L. Johnson, will continue to operate independently. Current subscribers should experience no interruption in service as the platform maintains its existing library of original series, indie films, and Black cinema.
