Mad Dog rock band earns standing ovation on X Factor 2026

The Sassari-based rock band Mad Dog received a standing ovation and four ‘yes’ votes during the first audition episode of X Factor 2026. Performing a cover of Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Brianstorm’, the group impressed the judging panel with their energy and technical skill.

The band members include Renato Marchisio (17), Davide Dore (18), Jacopo Sale (20), and Luca Pintus (20). Judges Irama, Francesco Gabbani, Jake La Furia, and Paola Iezzi praised their performance, with Iezzi jokingly comparing Sassari to the English city of Sheffield, the home of the Arctic Monkeys.

Mad Dog is not new to the music scene, having already released a debut album titled ‘Shame On Youth’. The nine-track project, which spans indie, punk rock, and alternative genres, was self-produced by the band members.
