Madagascar agencies partner to enhance disaster risk management

In Madagascar, the National Office for Disaster Risk Management (BNGRC) and the Malagasy Red Cross have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collective disaster risk management. The partnership focuses on prevention, early warning, emergency intervention, and post-disaster recovery to enhance community resilience against increasing risks such as cyclones, droughts, and floods.

The collaboration aims to save lives and reduce the impact of disasters through coordinated responses. Previous joint efforts following Cyclone Gezani assisted approximately 30,000 people across 6,241 households.
