Madagascar Airlines Plans Direct Antananarivo‑Guangzhou Flight
Madagascar Airlines announced that it will resume its Antananarivo‑Moroni service with two weekly flights and a third rotation on Sundays, using a single aircraft with a technical stop at Mahajanga. The carrier is also studying a direct flight from Antananarivo to Guangzhou, aiming to launch the route by the end of the year. Guangzhou is seen as a key trade hub for Malagasy importers of textiles, electronics and spare parts, and a direct link is expected to cut transport times and logistics costs. The proposal was presented by airline CEO Rado Rabarilala at a ceremony attended by Comoros ambassador Elyachroutu Mohamed, who praised the strengthening of bilateral ties. In addition, the airline plans to increase its service to Marseille from one to two weekly flights before year‑end.
