Madagascar begins national consultation for institutional refoundation

The national consultation process in Madagascar has entered a concrete operational phase aimed at preparing for institutional refoundation. The technical committee responsible for the consultation, led by Prime Minister Mamitiana Rajaonarison, held its first meeting at the Mahazoarivo State Palace.

The committee is tasked with monitoring the consultation in coordination with the Council of Christian Churches in Madagascar (FFKM). It will ensure adherence to the established calendar and stages of the process. Following the consultation, the committee will transmit conclusions to the Prime Minister to oversee government implementation within the framework of the Refoundation.

The committee includes representatives from various sectors, including youth from every province, civil society, traditional authorities, the private sector, and religious entities. Simultaneously, the FFKM has begun organizing its own framework, including an ecumenical service to inaugurate the headquarters from which it will pilot the consultation and introduce the national coordinator.
