Madagascar implements educational reforms and youth governance forums
In Madagascar, new educational reforms and youth-led governance initiatives are taking shape. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has introduced new high school series—L, S, and OSE—designed to align more closely with university requirements. These tracks focus on specific domains: Sciences and Technology (S), Sciences and Societies (OSE), and Humanities and Letters (L). According to Professor Angelo Raherinirina, this restructuring aims to facilitate easier access to higher education and international studies by emphasizing specialization.
Simultaneously, approximately one hundred young Malagasy citizens gathered at the University of Antananarivo for a national forum to address governance, integrity, and corruption. Organized by the Comité pour la Sauvegarde de l’Intégrité (CSI) with support from the International Organization of La Francophonie and the Swiss Confederation, the event seeks to involve youth in the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2025-2030. Participants are working to draft a collective Manifesto to propose concrete actions for their communities regarding citizenship and professional integrity.
