Madagascar President Michael Ranariza Visits Egypt, Strengthening Economic and Cultural Ties

Egypt hosted Madagascar President Michael Ranariza and a high‑level delegation for a state visit. At the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, President Ranariza met Minister Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh in a round‑table that highlighted ongoing cooperation, including a $923 million 250‑km highway linking Antananarivo to the port of Toamasina, joint urban‑development projects, and a trade turnover of about $123 million in 2025.

Following the economic talks, the president toured the Grand Egyptian Museum, viewing artefacts from King Tutankhamun’s tomb and the statue of Ramesses II. He praised the museum’s craftsmanship and described the visit as a celebration of Egypt’s enduring civilisation, underscoring the cultural dimension of the bilateral relationship.
