Madagascar President visits Chad to strengthen bilateral ties

Madagascar President Colonel Michaël Randrianirina traveled to N’Djamena, Chad, to attend the 66th anniversary of Chad's independence. The visit, conducted at the invitation of Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, serves as a platform to strengthen bilateral relations and promote intra-African cooperation.

During the trip, President Randrianirina met with approximately twenty Malagasy nationals living in Chad, emphasizing the importance of the diaspora as a resource for Madagascar. The discussions focused on boosting economic and professional exchanges, as well as the sharing of expertise to increase Madagascar's presence on the continent.

In addition to bilateral talks, the visit included diplomatic engagements with other regional leaders, such as the President of Guinea-Bissau. President Déby Itno has expressed interest in visiting Madagascar to further identify specific avenues for cooperation between the two nations.
