Madagascar strengthens international partnerships in tourism and culture
Madagascar is expanding its international cooperation to bolster the tourism and audiovisual sectors. In a meeting with a French delegation led by Ambassador Jean-Marc Grosgurin, Madagascar’s Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Lily Rafaralahy, discussed enhancing the country’s global visibility. Key topics included infrastructure development, such as access roads to Mantadia and maintenance along the Pangalanes Canal, as well as the upcoming “Tendances Madagascar 2027” event in France.
Simultaneously, Madagascar is strengthening cultural ties with Italy to preserve its audiovisual heritage. A delegation led by Minister of Communication and Culture Gascar Fenosoa met with the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna to discuss the conservation, digitization, and restoration of Malagasy cinematic archives. This initiative aims to improve the preservation of historical films held at the Auditorium Andohibe and provide professional training for Malagasy specialists.
