Madame Satã wins top prize at Huelva Film Festival

The Brazilian film Madame Satã, directed by Karim Aïnouz, won the Colón de Oro, the top prize at the 28th Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival in Spain. The film also secured awards for best actor, given to protagonist Lazaro Ramos, and best cinematography, awarded to Walter Carvalho.

Brazilian director Suzana Amaral received the Colón de Plata for her direction of Uma Vida em Segredo, which also earned the Special Jury Prize and the Best Actress award for Sabina Greve. The audience award at the festival went to the Spanish feature Una Pasión Singular, directed by Antonio Gonzalo.
